The Boston Conservatory’s annual New Music Festival returns November 19–22, with special guest artist, virtuoso flutist Claire Chase, in residence. Each year, the multi-day celebration of music’s evolution throughout the ages is dedicated to recognizing exceptional compositions by modern composers. This year, the festival is celebrating women, presenting works by seven different female composers from established luminaries such as Sofia Gubaidulina and Kaija Saariaho to Ellen Taaffe Zwilich and Caroline Shaw—the first woman and youngest woman, respectively, to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music.

All performances are FREE and take place at 8 p.m. in Seully Hall, 8 The Fenway, Boston, MA:
