“Visual Science: The Art of Research” is a a new exhibit coming to the 2nd floor gallery of The Harvard Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments. The exhibit focuses on how scientists and artists work symbiotically to communicate scientific research through the visual arts, featuring images and objects drawn from a variety of disciplines and time periods. With large scale reproduction images, three dimensional objects, and films, this exhibit offers visitors a sampling of this rich topic, featuring images from pioneers such as the Polaroid inventor Edwin Land.


The Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments is open Sunday through Friday, 11am to 4:00pm in the Harvard Science Center, 2nd Floor, 1 Oxford St, Cambridge, MA 02138. The exhibit opens Friday, September 20, at 11am, and will be on view through September 2020.

CHSI is a partner museum of the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture.
