No one view of the nude is the same; in art, as in life, there are no certainties. No blacks and whites, only shades of gray. The nude’s importance is a symbol of purity, humanity and sexuality. It is one of the purest forms of nature. The nude affects the way we see and interpret the rest of the world. It is something that goes unnoticed in our lives, but all of humanity, even the puritanical, confront it on a daily basis.
