We are so excited for our 12th summer of MetaMovements' Salsa In The Park (SITP)!


A free and popular outdoor summer series for all ages, backgrounds and abilities, SITP is an innovative community engagement project in partnership with Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) Blackstone Community Center that transforms public space for public benefit through music, dance and education. A public health initiative, featuring movement as a key to wellness, it draws hundreds of people from all walks of life every summer on Monday evenings for:


**Space for Social Dancing all night long
**Weekly performances featuring professional, amateur and youth performers showcasing a variety of cultures and genres
**FREE 30 minute multi-level Latin dance lessons (Salsa, Bachata and Rueda De Casino)


Weekly Event Schedule:


6pm: Intro to Salsa Dance - Main Floor; and Salsa Body Movement, Footwork & Turns and Rueda De Casino - lower area
6:15pm: Salsa Lesson in ASL (American Sign Language) with Silent Rhythms, Inc.
6:30pm: Social dancing begins on the Main Floor with local DJ; and Bachata Lessons - Lower Area
7:15pm-7:45pm: Performances by amazing artists of a variety of genres (dance, song, theater, poetry, comedy, etc)
7:45pm-9pm: Social dancing continues!


Salsa In The Park Mondays is just the tip of the iceberg of MetaMovements' Community Programs during the summer months. We are super grateful for partial funding and support through weekly donations at the event as well as support from our volunteers, BCYF Blackstone Community Center, Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture Boston's Boston Cultural Council (a program of the Mass Cultural Council); the Boston Public Health Commission's Summer Fitness Series; John Hancock's MLK Scholars Nonprofit Partners program; Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (Cambridge), to name a few...
