Please join us for our performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2 in B-flat major, known as ‘Hymn of Praise.’ His most ambitious symphonic achievement , written for the four-hundreth celebration of the invention of movable type, it was wildly popular during his lifetime. It is Mendelssohn’s joining of instrumental and vocal celebrations, and a display of the rich traditions of the German symphony and cantata.

We will be performing it, and his ‘Psalm 13, Lord, How Long Wilt Thou Forget Me’ in English.

Grand Harmonie, performing on period instruments, will accompany us, as will professional soloists; Elisa Sunshine, soprano, Rebecca Krouner, mezzo-soprano, and Steven Myles, tenor.

Free parking for concertgoers will be available at the Broadway and Oxford Street Garages. Directions to parking and Sanders Theatre can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/HarvardRadcliffeChorus
