Memory is a stunning sensory art experience created by music composer Dániel Péter Biró and master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, working with Le Laboratoire founder David Edwards and Rachel Field, creators of the new oPlatform, involving multiple "rituals" of scent and sound.

The installation explores the possibilities of awakening memory through non-representational art forms that alternate between conscious and unconscious perception. Participants move before scent alters and sound installations that act as windows to processes of historical, personal, and social memory, and introduce realms of concrete material realities and virtual, historical myths. The scent compositions in the exhibition are designed to provoke memories and emotional reactions. The scent of Silence is a particularly important scent of the exhibition and will be available to exhibition goers in the form of a scent bracelet, or oBracelet, containing the oNote of Silence. The Memory exhibition, as well as the oPlatform, is an artistic and technological response to the growing fascination of science around the importance of scent to human health and the mind, including circumstances of stress/relaxation, hunger/satiation, fear/tranquility, and memory loss.

Also, be sure to stop by on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:00-8:00pm for Lab Lounge! A new place to unwind and enjoy the ambiance of Kendall Square and Le Laboratoire. It features a full bar (both cash & credit are accepted), snacks by Cafe ArtScience, art, ideas, and great discussions! You can grab a drink and enjoy the exhibition at the same time!

Le Laboratoire Cambridge is located at 650 East Kendall Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The exhibition runs April 17, 2015 - August 16, 2015. Gallery hours are Wednesday - Friday 12:00pm - 9:00pm and Saturday 11:00am - 10:00pm. For information visit www.lelaboratoirecambridge.com, find us on Facebook, or call 617-945-7515.
