Through meditation we can access a sense of calm and purpose that can give us more ease and enjoyment throughout the day. The purpose of meditation is to increase our capacity to help others — so taking the time to meditate is not selfish.

The New Meditation Handbook is a practical guide to meditation. It teaches us how to make both ourself and others happy. Each week in this fall series, Gen Khedrub will guide us through one of the meditation practices from this book, known as the Stages of the Path or Lamrim.

This is perfect class for learning the the basics of meditation and Buddha’s teachings and building a regular personal practice.

September 4 - Learning to relax

September 11 - What is meditation?

September 18 - Making every day count

September 25 - Facing our mortality

$12 per class / series discount / free for members

Location: This class will be offered in-person at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston, 2298 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge, just a few blocks from the Davis Square T stop.

Gen Kelsang Khedrub is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. He has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for almost 30 years. Gen Khedrub has served as a Resident Teacher in Chicago and in Seattle, and over the years he has taught special events and led meditation retreats around the country. His heartfelt teachings are presented with clarity and humor that make them accessible to everyone. Through his humility and deep understanding of Buddha’s teachings, Gen Khedrub provides an inspiring example of a contemporary Buddhist practitioner we can follow.
