With its brilliant color and intense flavor, matcha has taken the west by storm and you’d be hard-pressed to find a coffee shop or restaurant that doesn’t have matcha on the menu in one form or another (even as an ingredient in baked goods). In this hands-on class, we’ll taste an array of ceremonial grade matcha from Japan and assess the flavor and texture differences between them. We will also grab a bamboo whisk and learn to prepare matcha using traditional Japanese techniques and tools, as well as modern western methods.
