On January 18, visitors are welcome to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by exploring the majestic gardens and legendary galleries of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Join us for a day of free admission to the Museum focused on the theme of community service.

In the Studio, work alongside featured Polly Thayer Starr Artist Series guest artist Ifé Franklin, get ready for spring in the Greenhouse Classroom with a horticulture seed-sorting activity, and create an object for someone special in the Living Room as a way to say thanks and to give back. In the historic Palace, explore the Museum with family-friendly looking guides, attend a Spotlight Talk in the galleries, and enjoy live music around the Courtyard by The Lance Martin Jazz Trio in the afternoon.

Free admission will be available at the Museum entrance on Monday, January 18 starting at 11 am, on a first-come, first-served basis.

To ensure everyone’s experience at the Museum is pleasant, entry is timed every 30 minutes beginning at 11 am, with the last entry at 4 pm.

Due to capacity regulations, the Museum may only admit a specific number of visitors at once. For your safety and the safety of the collection, visitors may be asked to wait in line to enter.

Admission includes access to the entire Museum, including special exhibitions.
