I'm very happy to welcome the John Funkhouser Quartet to the Mandorla Music Series on March 11th! Pianist John Funkhouser will be joined by longtime band members Phil Sargent on guitar, Greg Loughman on bass and Mike Connors on drums. As a composer, Funkhouser draws inspiration from figures as diverse as Charles Mingus, Frank Zappa, Igor Stravinsky, and Trey Anastasio. This band has an incredible rapport and has logged countless hours together playing Funkhouser's compelling originals and signature interpretations of a wide range of music from inside and outside the jazz world.
