Makeout Palace returns to the Aeronaut Cannery stage alongside local acts, Head First and Foxy Grandpa! Makeout Palace began in the summer of 2019, in Boston, MA when friends Colin Ratcliff and Eva Levin met. After just a week they had already written and begun recording their first songs. They soon brought in drummer, Aidan Shapiro, to complete their sound, and released an EP that same month. Driven by their influences of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joy Division, The Beatles, and more, they created their first full-length album, The Midnight Show. They are currently working on their second album and playing together as much as possible.
HeadFirst is a Boston Based Grunge Band founded during the midst of the Pandemic in 2020 at Berklee College of music. Before the time they were all 21 the band had traveled across the east coast winning Battle of the bands in Reading Pennsylvania, and recording direct to Vinyl in Brooklyn, and playing Far wide and in between. By 2022 HeadFirst had played the Boston market, and recorded their debut album “I Believe“ in Charlestown with Producer Aaron Bellamy of the Abeez. The band is now working on its Second studio album with the running title “DeadLast” and is workshopping the songs across America. Critics have compared the sound of Headafirst to the likes of Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr. & Basment. HeadFirst consists of Bassist Siraj Husainy, Guitarist Coby Conrad, and Drummer Bima Wirayudha.
Foxy Grandpa is a punk/country supernova hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. The band consists of , Matthew Hannon (records under ), and , all solo artists who have converged to enable each other’s freakish and whimsical tendencies. The band has become known for the atypical and eclectic subject matter of their lyrics as well as their rowdy live shows, wherein each member, all multi-instrumentalists, switch instruments and trade lead vocal duties multiple times throughout their set. They were also the first band in Boston to discover three-part harmony. They knew they couldn’t be the best band in Boston, but dagnabbit they’re determined to be the silliest.
