We love beer, and we love cheese, so we've put the two together in a pairing series celebrating local farms and creameries. We'll select a new farm each month and prepare a curated flight of different cheese varieties and beer styles for you to enjoy! Menu and serving details below.

September 2019: Robinson Farm (Hardwick, MA)

--

Hardwick Stone
An American Brick style 1870's family recipe, akin to a mild cheddar quite approachable and slightly saline. Semi-hard, firm with a very familiar texture.

Benthic Realm IPA is our choice to pair with Hardwick; it features citrusy and grassy hop flavors, a light body, and a dry finish to balance this cheese perfectly.

--

A Barndance
A semi-hard alpine style cheese: subtle, yet with significant presence, fruity and nutty with a slight peppery finish.

This cheese fits well with dark beer, and our choice is Blood Built - a stout with solid chocolate and roast notes and a bone-dry finish.

--

Arpeggio
Arpeggio is a hybrid of a bloomy and washed rind cheese. Strong aroma, beautiful finish, soft and spreadable when warm. Some say the flavor is between a Brie and a Tallegio.

The light funk of our wild red ale, Critters II, will hold up well to the symphony of flavors in the Arpeggio - lightly malty-sweet with a whack of bright acidity, balanced out by some oaky/vanilla notes from a yearlong slumber in rye barrels.

--

Tekenink Tomme
Rustic, pungent, mushroomy and creamy. Our sharpest cheese. Tekenink means "deep in the woods," which reminds us of the earthy notes.

Our pick for Tomme is Hoopin’, a light-bodied farmhouse ale with a hint of tang. Its subtle fruit and pepper notes will be an excellent complement to this flavorful cheese.

We'll be serving the cheeses with the recommended beer flight for $25. Eventually, we plan to sell cheese by the wedge in the taproom (ordered a la carte) but for now we're getting to know our local options! We would love to hear your feedback as we explore this new program.

American Farmhouse Brewing From Everett, MA.

Since 2016. husband and wife brewing duo Jared and Liz Kiraly have been releasing fresh new beer every week from their 3-barrel nano brewery. Inspired by old-school Belgian farmhouse brewing while celebrating American styles, their ales combine the heart and soul from each of these beloved beer cultures. Four year round beers are always available, but the gears of Bone Up are always turning, so you can expect an ever-changing array of one offs, seasonal releases, and experimental batches. Located in the heart of Everett's Fermentation District, the taproom features full pours, flights, and growlers from twelve rotating tap lines. Bar snacks are always available!
