The Metropolitan Opera is bringing Il Trovatore to a theater near you!
Soprano Anna Netrebko stars in her highly anticipated Met role debut as Leonora, the tortured heroine who sacrifices her own life for the love of the title troubadour. The incomparable baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky sings Count di Luna, tenor Yonghoon Lee is Manrico, mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick astounds in one of her signature roles—the gypsy Azucena—and bass Štefan Kocán is Ferrando. Marco Armiliato conducts Sir David McVicar’s hot-blooded production, which draws inspirations from the works of Goya.
