Julian Dessler, born and raised in Rhode Island began cultivating his desire for playing the trumpet at the age of 10. His love for music developed throughout childhood and was encouraged by Julian’s father who played the saxophone as well as the near constant presence of music being played through his home growing up.
Julian’s immense appreciation for music and specifically his dedication to playing the trumpet soon became his main goal in life.
He took his passion to Indiana University- Jacobs School of Music where he was honored to receive a scholarship in both classical and jazz. While attending Indiana University, Julian had the humble privilege to perform and study with the late, great David Baker.
Julian later returned home and continued his academics under scholarship at Boston's Berklee College of Music. Where in 2015 he earned a Bachelors of Music in Professional Music- Performance.
Since than, Julian has been touring the United States and Canada with numerous groups and musicians and has been actively recording on trumpet and flugelhorn in Boston and Los Angeles. Along the way he has had the pleasure of performing with jazz heavyweights, Terence Blanchard, Antonio Sanchez, Walter Smith III, Dayna Stevens, tap dancing legend Maurice Hines, The John Tesh Orchestra, funk powerhouse Turkuaz, The Main Squeeze, Spiritual Rez, and pop/opera superstar, Josh Groban.
