We will be hiking to the summits of Mount Martha, Owl's Head, and the Cherry Mountain (Distance 7.4 Miles; Elevation Gain 2600'). The summits are to the west of the northern Presidentials. Mount Martha offers views to Franconia Ridge and Owl's Head has excellent views to the Presidentials, including Mount Washington. Mount Martha is included on New Hampshire's 100-highest list, and both peaks are on the 52 with a View list. We are going to visit Cherry Mountain to enjoy the fun of hiking. This is a moderate hike, please be aware that you need to be in good shape if you want to participate.
What to Bring: Required. No Exceptions. No Cotton or Rayon Clothing Either: $5 for parking fee; Hiking boots. Sneakers are not allowed, since this will be a difficult hike; Wool sock; Shirt and pants that are either wool or synthetic (think workout gear); Insulating layer, such as a fleece. It can be windy at the top, so please ensure that you bring warm clothing, including a wind breaker with a hood; 2-3 liters of water; Headlamp. Please DO NOT use your cell phone as a flashlight; Bring some Food!
Optional, but Strongly Recommended: Hiking poles; Rain gear (top and bottom). These may or may not be required, depending on the weather forecast; Hat and sunglasses; Sunscreen; Bug spray; Personal first aid kit; Trail map
