Calling all heroes, it’s time to report for duty! This Friday, May 17th from 6-8pm, firefighters from the Town of Sommerville Fire Department will be hosting the kickoff event for LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston's “LEGO© City: Report for Duty” campaign, which spans from May 25 – July 7.
As part of a larger effort to highlight female first responders in the community and show young girls that they can do anything, the Town of Sommerville Fire Department will be joined the professionals at Strong Women, Strong Girls – an organization which empowers young girls through female role models, and Megan Quigley, the only female Master Model Builder in North America.
Interactive visuals include:
• Summer safety tips and youth empowerment seminar
• Fire challenge and water bucket game with members of the Town of Sommerville Fire Department
• Themed mosaic builds with the only female Master Model Builder in North America
• Kid’s letter writing activity to local first responders
As part of LEGO© City: Report for Duty, other limited-time visuals include:
• Build Police Badges and share them in the Heroes Gallery
• Kids create their very own police chase adventure movie
• Kids build a super Rescue Helicopter to save people trapped on top of the mountain
• Speed down the zip line for a helicopter rescue
• Brand new “LEGO® City 4D Movie: Officer in Pursuit!” in the 4D Cinema
• Costume character meet & greets with LEGO® City’s Firewoman
