We're back to bring you Laughing Liberally Boston, a political comedy show featuring some of Boston’s top liberal and progressive comedians.

Comedians on the November 11th bill include:

Christa Weiss
Ryan Chani
Srilatha Rajamani
Kwasi Mensah
Headliner: Mike Dorval

With a special performance from Susan Linn, Ed.D.is Research Associate at Boston Children’s Hospital, and Lecturer on Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.. An award-winning ventriloquist and children’s entertainer, Dr. Linn appeared on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and is internationally known for her innovative work using puppets in child psychotherapy. She pioneered this work at Children's Hospital Boston and the Children’s AIDs Program, where she used puppets to help children cope with illness, hospitalization, death, loss and other life challenges. She has lectured on the importance of creative play, the impact of media and marketing on children, and the use of puppetry as a therapeutic tool in venues throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Mexico and the Republic of Georgia.

In addition to some of the finest progressive comedians Boston has to offer, each Laughing Liberally Boston show will feature a special interview segment with a local political figure, journalist or activist. This month’s guest is Melissa Campbell of Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood.

The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood was founded in 2000 by Susan Linn as an activist response to the rapidly escalating problem of commercialism encroaching on the lives of children. They persuaded the NFL to discontinue NFL Rush Fantasy, an online fantasy football game for kids 6-12, protected kids playing Pokemon GO, from being pushed to sponsors’ real-life locations as part of gameplay and raised the alarm on Hello Barbie, a doll that recorded children’s conversations and sent them back to Mattel (and Mattel’s unnamed third-party partners) for analysis

Laughing Liberally Boston takes place the second Saturday of every month, with the next show on Saturday November 11th at 8pm at Cafe At the Armory, 191 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143. Admission is $8 online and $10 at the door.
