Latinx Heritage Night

This year, we’re taking our second annual Latinx Heritage Night online to recognize and honor the enduring cultural contributions of the Latinx Community to the US. Hosted in partnership with Amplify Latinx, this free virtual event includes a spoken word performance, music, a Spotlight Talk, an artist talk, and more—all in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month!

The event, streamed here and on Facebook and YouTube, features:

– A spoken word performance by Grateful Queen (Dominican Republic)
– Music from trombonist Angel Subero (Venezuela), Puerto Rican cuatro player Wilson Vera (Ecuador), and guitarist and singer Gian Carlo Buscaglia (Puerto Rico)
– Music from singer and Puerto Rican cuatro player Fabiola Méndez (Puerto Rico)
– A Spotlight Talk on Luchita Hurtado’s Untitled (1970) from Layla Bermeo, Kristin and Roger Servison Associate Curator of Paintings, Art of the Americas
– An artist talk from photographer Graciela Iturbide

Este evento en colaboración con Amplify Latinx, es gratis y tendrá presentación de poemas de Grateful Queen; musica de Angel Subero, Wilson Vera, Gian Carlo Buscaglia, y Fabiola Mendez; con un foco de galería con nuestra Layla Bermeo, Kristin y Roger Servison, la curadora asociada de pinturas en el departmento de Arte de las Americas.
