Larry Kaplan’s songs are widely known by audiences and folk musicians throughout the world including “Old Zeb,” “Song for Gale,” “Song for the Bowdoin” and many others. Accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and banjo, Larry draws his inspiration from the rich tradition of England, Ireland and Scotland, as well as from his extensive repertoire of original contemporary ballads, recorded and sung by many leading folk artists around the globe.

Sandy Paton, Connecticut balladeer and founder of Folk Legacy Records referred to Larry as “one of the best song-makers in the American folk song revival,” and the Roots Music Authority magazine, No Depression, says Larry has made “some of the most finely-crafted contemporary songs in modern folk music….stunningly painted portraits of life.” Kaplan’s original songs are ballads—stories in song, best known for themes of the sea and rivers and of the people who make these their home.

His music is New England through and through, never cluttered or overwrought, despite the difficult topics he explores. The charm in Kaplan is the beauty and humor he sees in the ordinary. Whether on the stage or through his four highly acclaimed Folk Legacy CDs he gives a voice to those who are often not heard.

He is thrilled to be sharing the stage at Club Passim with Eric Kilburn and Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki, two of New England’s leading folk musicians.

Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki is a New Hampshire-based fiddler who specializes in Celtic music but often joins other performers and bands in genres ranging from folk to rock. He was awarded the title of “Master Artist” by the NH State Council On The Arts, and named “Best Fiddler 2016” by NH Magazine. He has toured nationally with various projects, written soundtracks for audiobooks and television and appeared as a guest on over 60 albums. He currently performs about 200 shows each year, mostly with his own band, the Jordan TW Trio.
