Laika tells the true story of the first ever animal to orbit the earth.
A stray mutt launched in Sputnik II serves as our protagonist as she whizzes through the Milky Way Galaxy and communicates with Sirius, the canine constellation of lore. This story of innovation by Massachusetts author, Cat Dossett meets with the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation’s mission to inspire future innovation by preserving and studying history. This theatrical adaptation will feature puppetry, projection, music, and multi-media effects to weave an informative story that delights children and engages adult audiences equally. Performance runs about 45 minutes.
