Latinx Performance Ensemble & Agora Cultural Architecs presents LA GOLONDRINA by Guillem Clua, directed by Luis Caballero.
LA GOLONDRINA, starring by Soledad Lopez & Josean Ortiz, brings together two characters: Amelia and Ramón. She is a severe singing teacher, who receives Ramón at her home, who wishes to improve her vocal technique to sing at her recently deceased mother's memorial. The chosen song, La golondrina, has a special meaning for him and, apparently, also for the woman who, despite her initial reluctance, agrees to help the student. She is a mother wounded in the depths of her soul, she questions what it is that makes us human, what defines our humanity and concludes that the ability to feel the pain of others is what distinguishes us from the beasts . This is the feeling behind this work, inspired directly by the terrorist attack at the Pulse bar in Orlando on June 12, 2016.
With this production we want to pay tribute to the families of the victims in Pulse on the third anniversary of the tragedy.
In Spanish with English subtitles.
