Join the Boston Public Library for a performance by Jorge Arce and pianist Robert Silver as part of our Concerts in the Courtyard Series, which is sponsored by Bank of America. The entire repertoire will be embellished by the jazz improvisation spirit of the music combined with Afro-Caribbean conga drums in some of them.
No registration required. This program will be additionally broadcast to the BPL's YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/KpGG9TGrfgE. In the event of inclement weather, concerts may be live-stream only.
"Special Occasion" is a voice and piano concert, which includes Afro-Caribbean and Latin American songs (Boleros [Ballads], Tangos, and Rumbas) with actor and vocalist Jorge Arce from Puerto Rico and the piano teacher and musician Robert Silver from Cuba. Some songs in English will be included. The entire repertoire will be embellished by the jazz improvisation spirit of the music, combined with Afro-Caribbean conga drums in some of them.
