Grab your dad and join us for a Father's Day afternoon of cast iron and lead!
Learn the basics of creating with type! Participants will learn type composition with real lead letters; proper lead form setup and page layout; how to set up, use and clean a Vandercook proofing press; and how to trim the prints to size. The focus will be on technical skill with an eye for producing a beautiful result.
Participants will also learn some of the history of letterpress printing, the current renaissance in letterpress, and how the instructor came to work with letterpress. Everyone will take home a set of monogrammed A-2 notecards and a set of A-2 calling cards.
