Imagining Philly without Cash Bail

The current system of cash bail to ensure defendants appear for court hearings unfairly traps poor people charged with nonviolent offenses in long-term pretrial detention while those with means go on with their lives.
We need a better alternative. Come learn about the current system and options to replace it.
Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting (Quakers) and Philadelphians Organizing to Witness, Empower and Rebuild (P.O.W.E.R.) will host a panel discussion with representatives from the Defenders Association and the Community Bail Fund, and a city resident affected by the bail system.
This event is open to the public at no charge. Please spread the word. Donations will be accepted to support the Community Bail Fund.
