The ICA and Boston Ballet join forces at First Fridays this month in a special presentation of contemporary dance. Boston Ballet will ignite the ICA stage with performances of the hauntingly beautiful of Trial, an intimate new work choreographed by Jeffrey Cirio, Boston Ballet principal dancer. The evening will also include spotlight talks of the ICA’s newest exhibitions, specialty cocktails, and an all-out dance party led by Boston favorite DJ Knife, back with a brand new set.


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS


Special Performances by Boston Ballet
Boston Ballet ignites the ICA stage with a special presentation of the hauntingly beautiful of Trial, an intimate new work choreographed by Jeffrey Cirio, Boston Ballet principal dancer. Two performances available at 7 or 8:30 pm; free tickets are required for entry and are available first come, first served at check-in. Due to high demand, guests are encouraged to arrive early to reserve their performance tickets. Timed performance tickets will be distributed and guests must attend the seating time specified on their ticket.


Body Work
Nick Cave’s vibrant Soundsuits are often used in performances choreographed by the artist. In Body Work, use the ICA's extensive materials bar—including feathers, streamers, cupcake liners, and more—to decorate your own brightly colored, Nick Cave–inspired Soundsuit. Open from 5 to 9 pm.


Spotlight Talks
Spotlight talks available in Nick Cave and William Kentridge: The Refusal of Time from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Last talk starts at 8:30 pm; galleries open until 9:30 pm.


DJs
Boston favorite DJ Knife returns to the ICA with a brand new set to kick start an all-out dance party.
