Hugh Hayden is a New York-based sculptor who is interested in looking at the human condition through the lens of the natural world. He transforms familiar objects through a process of selection, carving, and juxtaposition in order to challenge our perceptions of ourselves, others, and the environment.


This special event featuring the artist in conversation with Chief Curator Sarah Montross will include a preview of Hayden’s upcoming outdoor commission titled Huff and a Puff in the Sculpture Park and will be followed by a book signing of the brand-new monographic catalog, Hugh Hayden: American Vernacular.
