Composers often use musical works as a means of honoring the memory of their dearest in their own ‘language’. This concert features works by Nadia Boulanger, a renowned Longy professor, remembering her sister Lili; Latvian composer Peter Vasks celebrating the great French composer Messiaen; and Tchaikovsky, who wrote a work dedicated to his mentor, the composer Nikolay Rubinstein.
