The total length of this hike is 9.8 miles and is rated as moderate. Mt. Hancock has an elevation of 4380’ and South Hancock has an elevation of 4278’. This will take approx. 7 hours to complete, depending on our pace.
I have an appointment in NH in the evening so I am scheduling it to be down in time with some buffer. I apologize for choosing 8 AM instead of 9 AM.

All listed gear is required and I will be performing gear checks before leaving Boston.


-There will be river crossings that are more difficult in the spring time. Please bring extra socks and change of shoes for the car is highly recommended. Maybe footwarmers in case your feet get wet early in the hike. Poles also may help with river crossings.


-Microspikes (in case there is still snow at the top)

This is a moderately difficult hike. You must be comfortable hiking in spring conditions and have all of the required gear above. You are responsible for having a map of this hike; this is not a guided hike. You are responsible for your own safety and preparedness.
