Shelburne Moriah is the northernmost major peak in the Carter Range with Its expansive, ledgy alpine area at the top offers sweeping views including the Presidential’s, Carter-Moriah range and Caribou Speckled wilderness through various ledges. This mountain is on the 52 WAV list. The trail starts of easy, becoming more steep as you get closer to the summit. We’ll take the Rattle River Trail before turning left on the Kendukeag Trail to the summit and head back the same way. The total distance of this hike will be 10 milles.

Elevation gain: 3,200 ft.
Difficulty: Hard
What to bring:
Waterproof boots
Non-cotton layers
Headlamp
3+ liters of water
Snacks and lunch. You will be burning a lot of energy!

Only sign up for this hike if you're interested. Cancelling last minute or not showing up on the day of the hike without a valid reason is unacceptable (both carpoolers and non-carpoolers). By doing that, you're preventing someone else who wanted to join the trip to be able to go and can also lead to the cancellation of the entire trip. If you flake frequently without a valid reason (eg. unforeseen conflict), it will impact your ability to join future trips organized by me.
