Born of a truly disgusting practice space, Highly Personal Trash’s lead singer Sophie Innerfield countered the dismal environment by writing beautiful melodies over smooth modal progressions. Deeply influenced by an adolescent obsession with Tori Amos, Radiohead, and Tool, and later, bands such as Cat Power and Sonic Youth, Innerfield has since sought out collaborators who share her distaste for cookie-cutter pop songs and understand the importance of texture and lots of snacks.
The current crew includes producer Benny Grotto on drums (Slapshot), Nicholas Murphy on guitar (The Acre, Velah), and Jim Collins on bass (too many bands to list). HPT is excited to officially release their first album in November 2017 after a six-year hiatus.
