Jody Weber's evening-length work "Her Sylvan Ascent" encourages us to look deeply at the imbalances within ourselves and our world that are manifesting in climate crises. The dance draws on imagery from the Women's March and strong feminine archetypes, and challenges the viewer to re-imagine power beyond the materialistic state around us — to look inward. The piece was also inspired by Peter Wohlleben's "The Hidden Life of Trees," which suggests we consider the way communities might create power and longevity through a deeply connected web of support, mutual care, and commitment.
