Friday, December 9, 2016 from 5-10 p.m. help assemble GIFT BAGS FOR REFUGEES. Come to 1580 Mass Ave, Lexington 02420 and the Massachusetts Baptist Multicultural Ministries (MBMM) will put you to work preparing gift bags filled with warm clothes, household items, and toys for our area’s new Americans. These gifts will help to welcome refugees from Bhutan, Burma, the Congo, Iraq, and Somalia to Massachusetts.
We’ll distribute them at parties in Worcester and Lowell the following weekend. Volunteers of all ages are needed, no previous experience or religious affiliation required. Whether you can wrap, drive a truck, or just keep us all smiling, we need your help! Spare an hour or an evening and help welcome our area’s newest Americans.
