Come join us to prepare a midwinter’s meal that showcases the fruits and vegetables of the season. Learn how to transform the ordinary vegetables that are readily available this time of year into a winter celebration dinner for you and your loved ones. Our menu includes a colorful Mixed Greens and Citrus Salad, and a Hearty Winter Vegetable Stew – all prepared with heart-healthy ingredients that won’t break your budget. The class is led by Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Kathleen Mathis of Reimagining Nutrition, who will highlight how these dishes contribute to your health as well as your enjoyment. We'll wrap up the class with a chance to sample and enjoy the dishes, with recipes and nutrition facts to take home.
The classes are part of the Good Food for All program series, presented in partnership with the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger and the Free Library of Philadelphia's Culinary Literacy Center. The Good Food for All series builds skills, strategies and community among people facing and fighting food insecurity. For more information, visit freelibrary.org/cook
