The Boston Have a Hart Day's chapter's October 2018 event will take place from 1pm-3:30pm on October 20 at the GBFB Warehouse. The warehouse is an active warehouse: this means that there will most likely be pallet jacks and conveyor belts where you are working. Therefore: no earbuds/headphones or cellphones on the floor. You may go to the volunteer room if you need to make a call or text. The only food or drink permitted on the warehouse floor is water, they have bottled water or you may use your own bottle. Any loose items such as backpacks, purses, coats, etc. must be stored in lockers. It is generally easiest if you carry in as little as possible.


It is required to wear closed-toed shoes, for long hair to be worn up and long necklaces or lanyards be tucked under your shirt. Also, when choosing your shoes, keep in mind you will be on your feet for over two hours. It is highly recommended to wear clothes which wash easily, as you may get meat juice, dust, etc on you. It’s a warehouse so the temperature will be varying–dress in layers.


This is for ages 16+, but would be great for people who need community service hours for school, confirmation, National Honor Society, and the like.
