Emmett's yoga journey started in 2015. When he started, he was so stiff from a lifetime of playing soccer that he could barely even sit on the ground. At first he only saw yoga for it's physical benefits, thinking it would be a great way to loosen his body up and prevent injury. The more he practiced, the more he started to understand the many other ways in which it was impacting his life.

As the tension in his physical body started to release, Emmett noticed his mood improving and his sleep getting better. Over time, as the frozen energy in his body started to melt, deep thoughts and feelings started bubbling up to the surface. He became curious about the ability of yoga to unlock powerful emotions that had been buried in the subconscious. He started to make the connection that releasing tension in the body could also mean releasing tension in the mind, and that the two are intimately connected.

Emmett decided to dedicate himself to this beautiful and powerful tradition in 2017 and became a teacher. He received his 200-hour traditional Tantric Hatha Yoga teaching certification at The Practice in Canggu, Bali, from lead trainers Octavio Salvado, Karina Guthrie and Brad Hay. There he learned the practical and philosophical foundations of traditional Hatha Yoga, the oldest of yoga’s many styles of practice.

Emmett teaches a deep and intentional Hatha yoga class that is both accessible and faithful to tradition. He aims to change the perception of yoga as simply a form of exercise, and help his students to experience the full power of yoga as way of reconnecting to the self. Combining physical postures with conscious breath work and an inward focus, his classes help students to gain control of both body and mind.

When he’s not teaching yoga, Emmett is a musician as well as an avid climber, swimmer and soccer player.
