Late nineteenth century New York City is the setting for Mark Rydell’s all-star heist movie. James Caan and Elliott Gould are the titular characters who stumble into a bank robbery scheme being planned by the extravagantly wealthy and deviously charming Adam Worth (Michael Caine). With the help of Diane Keaton, Harry and Walter try to outsmart the master criminal Worth to pull off one of the biggest bank heists ever. This screening is part of Lightbox Film Center’s special series, Solid Gould: Elliott Gould in the 1970s, a collection of eight classic films saluting the inimitable Elliott Gould throughout April.
