WHAT: On December 9th, 2016, the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE), Boston’s premier adult education center, is building holiday bouquets that will last a lifetime in the unique class, Craft & Drink: Creating Decorative Holiday Flowers. Taught by expert paper flower crafter Jessica Smith, this class will teach students how to fold impressive flower creations out of paper, just in time for the gift-giving season.


From 6:30PM-9:30PM, students will learn how to create holiday camellia blooms out of Italian crepe paper while taking in cozy conversation, mulled wine and delicious treats. The custom-dyed and hand cut flowers, that won’t wilt or die, fit perfectly atop presents, hanging from the Christmas tree or even just given as a bouquet.

Smith, a Rhode Island School of Design alum, has turned her hobby and love of paper folding into a profession. With a background in metalsmithing, she found a way to change from the monochromatic life and thus founded Folium Paper, her online paper flower shop where she sells her crafty creations.
