Garden Concert with Kina Zoré

Join us for a family-friendly Afropop concert at Jamaica Plain’s beautiful Minton Stable Community Garden! Kina Zoré unites vibrant, danceable rhythms, rich instrumental colors, and lyrics of social change, creating music that delights as much as it moves.

Advance tickets are recommended: $9 for Trustees members, $15 for nonmembers, and FREE for kids. BYO chairs, blankets, and picnics. Local beer and hard cider, as well as wine and some simple snacks will be available for sale.

About Kina Zoré:
Led by Mozambican native Helder Tsinine and featuring members from across North America, Europe, and Africa, Kina Zoré has been internationally recognized by BBC Africa, the Christian Science Monitor, the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, the Peacedriven Award, and the Agência Angola Press. In the spirit of Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, and Thomas Mapfumo, Kina Zoré seeks to illuminate social issues that impact communities near and abroad, featuring lyrics and rhythms of social change. Vital to the group’s live performances are exhilarating drum breaks, lyrical solos, and undeniably danceable rhythms. Kina Zoré is a musical force not to be missed.

About the garden:
Minton Stable Community Garden is a much-loved community garden and park located at 110 Williams Street in JP. It is part of The Trustees’ network of 56 community gardens in Boston. There’s some free street parking in the neighborhood and biking, walking, Orange Line, and buses are other great ways to get to the garden.
