GA + AAUW PRESENT | EQUITY IN THE WORKPLACE

GA + The American Association of University Women (AAUW) are convening aspiring leaders across Boston’s tech and business communities to discuss equity and activism in the workplace. We realize ‘activism’ is a term you may not hear much when it comes to work, but day to day individuals are taking actions to change workplace culture and increase equity within their organizations.

Why It Matters
Discrimination still exists. Over the past few years, we have seen a rise in unconscious bias and sexual harassment trainings within companies, but there is a lot of work to be done to reach real equity. Women are still woefully underrepresented in top leadership positions. Collectively, working women in the U.S. lose out on $500 billion a year as a result of the persistent gender pay gap. Working mothers and women of color are disproportionately affected by these issues.

These disparities do not just hurt women- these are economic security issues that impact everyone.
