Five years ago, the then still-new Gilman Square Neighborhood Association started organizing a fairly typical block party - both to get neighbors out for a social gathering but also to acknowledge the tough disruptions that the construction of a new branch of Boston's MBTA (subway) system was introducing through our backyards. That block party has evolved into something much bigger, that is a warm reflection of the diverse community we share.
At this year’s G’22 Gilman Square Arts & Music Festival, we expect to host more than 800 community members, with local businesses and vendors, activities for kids, four live music, and more. With the G’22, we’re continuing our efforts to break down boundaries, build connections, share what makes Gilman Square a great place, and find ways to collaborate and support one another.
Live Music: Alastair Moock, Hot Molasses, Eminent Domain, and The Spicy Condiments
Artists & Kids Activities: Mad Oyster Studios, Paint-a-Gourd, local artists & craftspeople, Taro Card reading, & more
Food & Drink: Winter Hill Brewing Company, Daddy Jones Restaurant, Scott Brothers BBQ, Tipping Cow Ice Cream, and Neighborhood Produce
