At the 33rd Annual Book and Author Luncheon, WBUR Arts Engagement Producer Louise Kennedy will interview New York Times bestselling authors Joseph Finder and Larry Tye on their careers an upcoming literary works.

Louise Kennedy joined WBUR in 2012 as director of community engagement, overseeing WBUR’s live events and other direct, local forms of connecting with our audience. She has since transitioned to her new role as Arts Engagement Producer. Before joining WBUR, Louise was a longtime editor and writer at The Boston Globe, most recently as theater critic. She is the co-author, with Linda K. Rath, Ed.D., of “The ‘Between the Lions’ Book for Parents: Everything You Need to Know to Help Your Child Learn to Read” and has taught journalism at Emerson College.


Jospeh Finder is the New York Times bestselling author of thirteen suspense novels, most recently GUILTY MINDS, the third to feature “private spy” Nick Heller. Heller was introduced in VANISHED (2009) and returned in BURIED SECRETS (2011). Joe’s novels HIGH CRIMES (1998) and PARANOIA (2004) have been adapted as major motion pictures. KILLER INSTINCT (2006) won the International Thriller Writers’ Thriller Award for Best Novel; BURIED SECRETS won the Strand Critics Award for Best Novel, while COMPANY MAN (2005) won the Barry Award for Best Thriller. A founding member of the International Thriller Writers, Joe is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. He is a graduate of Yale College and the Harvard Russian Research Center, and lives in Boston with his wife and their dog Mia, a dropout from Seeing Eye dog school. Joe’s next book, THE SWITCH, will be available on June 13, 2017


Larry Tye is a New York Times bestselling author whose most recent book is a biography of Robert F. Kennedy, the former attorney general, U.S. senator, and presidential candidate. Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon explores RFK’s extraordinary transformation from cold warrior to fiery leftist. In addition to his writing, Tye runs the Boston-based Health Coverage Fellowship, which helps the media do a better job reporting on critical issues like public health, mental health, and high-tech medicine. Launched in 2001 and supported by a series of foundations, the fellowship trains a dozen medical journalists a year from newspapers, radio stations, and TV outlets nationwide. Tye is currently writing a biography of Senator Joseph McCarthy for Houghton-Mifflin- Harcourt.
