In this course students will learn the essential and fundamental elements of ballet technique. This includes basic ballet positioning, posture, vocabulary, and mechanics. Students will focus on basic arm and leg positioning as well as developing correct body placement. Students will also learn the structure of a traditional ballet technique class, progressing from barre work to center work throughout the 18 weeks of this course. By the end of the course students will be prepared to move into Foundations of Ballet 2. This class is intended for the absolute beginners. No experience is required!
