This term is a translation of the Japanese, Shinrin-yoku, which means “taking in the forest atmosphere” by walking calmly in the woods to experience the restorative qualities of being in nature. We’ll traverse the paths of the Hapgood Wright Town Forest to the Old Growth Pine, where we’ll honor the majesty of one of the oldest white pines in Concord, stopping to sense the story it yearns to tell.
