First Night First Day 2018 is a two-day, city-wide celebration that is free and open to the public. The long running festival will feature family-friendly activities such as the parade down Boylston Street, a spectacular pyrotechnics show, themed ice sculptures, performances from local musicians and artists, and of course, the highly anticipated annual countdown to the New Year the “Copley Countdown”. Then on January 1st, Copley Square will welcome New Year’s revelers to participate in activities devoted to families and children’s entertainment from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Events goers will enjoy beloved traditions of First Night including: the People’s Procession at 6:00 PM, fantastic ice sculptures, light displays and 7:00 PM Family Fireworks; in Boston Common, and our signature Copley Countdown pyrotechnics and light show in Copley Square at midnight. Arts and musical performances will take place in various venues around the Back Bay.
