What will someone make of your discarded iPhone when they stumble upon it 300 years in the future?

Archaeologists excavate ancient and modern trash heaps to learn more about behavioral patterns and environmental issues. Learn more about the concept of “garbology” with a talk by Lynn Makowsky, DeVries Keeper of Collections at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Makowsky’s talk will be followed by a hands-on activity where you will dig through—and try to make sense of—ancient trash to think about your own consumption habits.

The presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m, and the Museum at CHF will be open for self-guided tours from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
