Faculty at higher ed institutions are responsible for preparing the next generation for careers, life and citizenship in a world where digital texts, tools and technologies are transforming society. As college and university administrators seek greater efficiencies through online learning and the use of digital media in the classroom, how are faculty in community colleges, public or private colleges, and large universities responding? What motivates faculty to want to revise or change instructional strategies to make greater use of digital media tools? How do faculty learn how to increase their "digital teaching IQ"?

During this session, participants will:
Explore the challenges and opportunities that exist for faculty looking to meet the needs of their students and administration in a digital world
Examine the strategies that faculty employ to integrate edtech into their classes and support the needs of students
Discuss emerging pedagogical strategies in higher education that help to meet students' changing needs
Outline the ways that faculty and edtech entrepreneurs can support each other
