In December, the French Cultural Center is delighted to bring to its gallery Songes Métalliques, a collection of photographs by French artist Rith Banney.
Fascinated by architecture, industry and city planning, Rith Banney takes most of his inspiration from France’s industrial heritage. In Songes Métalliques, 21 photographs will be shown for the first time. The concept of the exhibition is to transform medium and sight through a series of works which, in the end, tear apart perceptions we may have of the discipline of photography. This reasoning is enforced by a mix of distinct graphic research in which metal, mirror and light effects constitute some of the roots of this exhibition. Playing with multifaceted and hard-to-grasp elements made of different materials lead to the superimpositions of images. For this, Rith Banney doesn’t hesitate to fix; reframe, recut, stick, restick, or to draw...
The exhibit will run from December 3rd to January 5th.*
