It can be a little disappointing to see the holidays end after so much festive fun in The Hub. But never fear, Boston can be just as charming in January. Whether you want to start a new hobby, enjoy live music, or eat your way through the city, we’ve got an event for you.

HIIT & Hops

When: Saturday January 6, 10am

Where:  Jamaica Plain

Info: Get a high-intensity workout with holistic health coach Laniah Harris and then cool off with a nonalcoholic beer in celebration of Dry January.


Aerial Circus Taster Class

When: Saturday January 6, 7pm

Where: Jamaica Plain

Info: Shake up your workout routine with an aerial circus routine class. Don’t worry, no experience flying through the air is necessary, although we won’t begrudge you for wearing a flashy workout outfit. 


November Project: Stair Workout at Harvard Stadium

When: Wednesdays in January

Where: Allston 

Info: Every Wednesday morning join a team of early risers to run the stairs at Harvard Stadium. There are a variety of different stair workouts available depending on your fitness experience. 


Taproom Yoga at Long Live Roxbury

When: Saturdays in January

Where: Roxbury

Info: Spent an hour participating in thoughtful movement during this all-levels yoga class at the Long Live Roxbury brewery. Afterwards reward yourself with a brew and mingle with other yogis.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Beyoncé

Boston Celtic Music Festival

Info: Every Thursday the ICA offers free admission to all exhibitions in the museum from 5-9pm. Advanced tickets are required and can be reserved starting at 10am the morning of. 


Free First Thursday at the Gardner Museum

When: Thursday January 4, 3pm

Info: On the first Thursday of every month you can stroll the historic halls of the Gardner Museum for free between 3pm and 9pm. Advanced timed entry tickets are required. While there, engage in artmaking activities and enjoy the collection. 


MIT Museum After Dark: Beyond the Fold

Where: Kendall Square

Info: Head to the MIT Museum after hours for a party like no other. At this edition, collaborate on large-scale origami structures, check out a machine that creases on its own, and learn how to fold dumplings with the team at Mei Mei.
