In Egrokinesis, artist and Lesley alumna Laurel Vincent '17 (BFA Fine Arts) explores energy and mark making in a series of abstract paintings. Through non-traditional techniques like scraping, building, manipulating and laying down brush marks; Laurel manipulates energy on the canvas. She notes, "I am the source of the energy, perhaps like the charger to a phone. I am not the ultimate source of energy really, I am powered by things in my life, other people, interests, experiences. My work is the battery I am providing power to and the mind of the viewer is the machine running on the battery- being powered by it through a visual experience."
