EMW Presents Adobo-Fish-Sauce

A one of a kind multisensory experience. This interactive multicultural cooking show fuses spoken word poetry and food as a vehicle for storytelling, healing, and celebration. A Puerto Rican and a Cambodian walk into a kitchen. The kitchen is your heart. The food is made with food. The food is sometimes poems. Either way you are fed. Join Adobo-Fish-Sauce in their kitchen, where the audience is family, and everyone has a seat at their table.

Adobo-Fish-Sauce is an artist project comprised of Anthony Febo and Ricky Orng, a Puerto Rican and Cambodian duo that continuously practices discovery, healing, and self preservation through their relationship with food, culture, and heartbreak. Its a touring interactive multicultural cooking show using spoken word as a vital ingredient to create recipes for celebrations.

Anthony Febo and Ricky Orng are both community organizers, teaching artists, and chefs-to-be. They believe in the importance of art as a tool to heal and the power of “AND” in the work they do. Collectively, they have performed at over 50 venues and colleges, including the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club, Busboys & Poets Cafe, National Poetry Festivals, Boston House of Blues, and Massachusetts State House. These artist has facilitated numerous writing, performance, and development workshops at schools, organizations, and conferences. Thier chemistry is apparent, having spent years hosting poetry events, coaching slam, and running social justice and arts programming under the same roofs.
